Bongo’s Bingo hasn’t had the easiest of years. It has had to deal with a court case to clear up a dispute over the rights to the brand’s name and lockdown restrictions have caused events to be cancelled or postponed Now, however, the popular Liverpool-based bingo brand is already starting to make a successful comeback.
Typically, the Bongo’s Bingo team holds special bingo nights at the Content warehouse in Liverpool, but it’s also taken its unique entertainment shows to other cities in the UK, as well as overseas in locations as far-flung as Dubai, Paris, Ibiza, Amsterdam, and Australia.
During the UK-wide COVID-19 lockdown, the company took the initiative to go online and broadcast shows via Zoom to raise funds for the NHS. However, now that lockdown restrictions are continuing to be eased, Bongo’s has been able to start getting back to normal by hosting outdoor shows.
Last weekend, Bongo’s held a massive gig at Norfolk Showground as part of the venue’s Summertime Social followed by another outdoor event at the Virgin Money Unity Arena in Newcastle.
Although it plans to continue touring outdoors throughout September and October, Bongo’s Bingo is already starting to think about Christmas and being indoors for the winter.
Whether Christmas will be as normal while COVID-19 is still around is anyone’s guess. However, Jonny Bongo and his team are already in the festive mood and have announced that they will be hosting a special series of shows in Liverpool from 30th November through until New Year’s Eve.
Those who purchase tickets for the brand’s We Can Be Heroes shows are, of course, encouraged to dress up and prepare for some socially-distanced, eccentric entertainment.
The Content warehouse will host a total of 16 shows and the first one on 30th November 2020 is a special NHS key worker show. In typical Bongo’s Bingo fashion, there’ll be music, mayhem, crazy prizes, and possibly the odd mini-rave.
