Genesis Global has been handed an interim licence suspension by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission

In news that has shocked the world of online gambling and online bingo, the popular and successful gambling brand Genesis Global has been handed an interim licence suspension by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. The UKGC are, of course, the independent government body tasked with overseeing the proper operation of the UK’s gambling sector.

This interim suspension has hit a number of well-known online gambling brands in the UK, including familiar casino names such as SpinIt, Casino Cruise, Pelaa and Genesis Casino. Although these brands are still up and running in the UK, it is likely they will be taken down in the very near future, else Genesis Global could be soon incurring further wrath from the UKGC.

The UKGC have said that the reason they have given Genesis Global this interim suspension is because the operator is facing a number of compliance issues. The UKGC have ordered that Genesis Global suspend all online gambling operations in the UK until all compliance issues have been sorted out.

Customers with accounts at any of the online gambling sites operated by Genesis Global have been told by the UKGC that the withdrawals section of any of these sites will remain open so withdrawals can be made.

Genesis Global is a company based in Malta that offers twelve online wagering brands to online gamblers all over the globe. The full list of its online casinos is as follows:

  • Casino Cruise
  • Vegas Hero
  • Sloty
  • SpinIt
  • Casino Joy
  • Genesis Casino
  • Spela
  • Pelaa
  • CasinoGods
  • Kassu
  • Casoola
  • Casino Planet

As well as its now-suspended UKGC licence, Genesis Global has licences from authorities in Sweden, Spain and Malta, the latter enabling it to offer gambling services to any jurisdiction in the world where online gambling is legal. Currently the company’s gambling operations are only suspended in the United Kingdom.

Genesis Global has already fallen foul of regulatory bodies in Sweden. Over the last twelve months the company has suffered financial penalties for violating the strict customer bonus offer rules laid down by the Swedish Gambling Authority, and for failing to properly connect its services to Sweden’s online gambling exclusion service.
