Katie McGlynn, who up until last year was one of Coronation Street’s biggest stars, has just announced via social media that she will be attending Mecca Bingo’s popular MeccaFest event in Blackpool this May 2020.
The 26-year-old is best-known for playing the role of Sinead Tinker in the British soap which has been affectionately dubbed “Corrie”. Although she left the famous cobbles in 2019 when her character died from cervical cancer, Katie has been keeping busy with press interviews and potential new jobs.
The actress was over the moon to have received a National Television Award for her portrayal of Sinead Tinker, particularly as she was the only female to be nominated in her category. However, the harrowing storyline which has helped to get more females booking smear tests left her “crying” and “grieving”.
Katie will be one of several celebrities that will help to host this year’s MeccaFest event in Blackpool.
On Saturday, 30th May 2020, she will join the likes of ex-Blue singer and actor, Duncan James, Joe Swash, TOWIE’s Bobby Norris, Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby and Nathan Henry, Georgia Harrison, Love Island’s Jack Fincham, Kelvin Fletcher, and more in the iconic ballroom of Blackpool Tower.
The event will see over £100,000’s worth of bingo prizes given away on the big night, as well as music and entertainment from artists including Peter Andre and Sister Sledge.
Tickets can only be secured through the Mecca Bingo website by earning tickets for the operator’s weekly prize draws.
Although Katie McGlynn hopes to continue working alongside the UK online bingo brand for the foreseeable future, she also wants to make the move to Los Angeles and gain a part in a Hollywood movie. Although she says LA is the perfect place to “chase my dreams”, Katie also admits that “if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t matter”.
