The company behind two of the UK’s leading gambling brands, Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo, says that it will be extending its support for Carers Trust for another year.
The Rank Group has had a significant impact on the fundraising efforts of Carers Trust since the two sides first joined forces in 2014. So far, Rank and its employees and customers both online and offline have helped to raise an amazing £2.6m for the charity which helps provide support and guidance for unpaid carers from all around the UK.
Unpaid carers typically assist friends and family members who are unable to look after themselves due to age, illness, injury, addiction or mental health issues. As a result, they are often unable to work themselves and gain very little recognition or reward for their selfless efforts.
Thanks to “Rank Cares”, more than 12,000 unpaid carers to-date have benefitted from Rank’s fundraising campaign, with funds being distributed via grants that are awarded via local carers charities.
These vital grants enable the carers and those who they care for to purchase essential household items such as washing machines, cookers, and beds or pay for hospital visits.
Rank’s fundraising activities over the years have seen customers help boost donations by taking part in daily Mecca Bingo charity games while staff have taken part in everything from sponsored walks and runs to festive events that have all helped to reward unpaid carers with complimentary spa treatments and Christmas lunches.
The global entertainment brand has also generously gifted this year’s sponsorship funds from its logo placement on Ipswich Town FC’s kit to Carers Trust.
Furthermore, Rank has managed to continue raising funds throughout the COVID-10 lockdown by coming up with innovative ideas like “Walk the UK” which allowed some of its staff to walk the length of John O’Groats to Land’s End in their local streets and parks.
Initiatives such as this are vital to organisations like Carer’s Trust so this continued support by Rank Group is great news.
